MTV EMA release 2011 nominees list: Wizkid, Cabo Snoop, Fally Ipupa nominated

MTV today announced the nominees for the “2011 MTV EMA” with Lady Gaga leading the pack with six nominations, and Katy Perry and Bruno Mars following closely behind with four nominations. British songstress Adele, who stands as the top-selling artist of the year, has been nominated for three awards, with Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds To Mars also up for three. The 18th annual MTV EMA will take place on Sunday 6 November at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena, airing on MTV channels around the world including MTV (DStv 321) and MTV Base (DStv 322).
New this year is the World Wide Act category, which celebrates diversity and the breadth of all the music that MTV has to offer by nominating incredible artists from all corners of the world. Fans will be able to vote for an artist/group within five different regions (Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, Africa/India/Middle East and Europe). The nominee from each region with the most votes (to be announced the week of 24th October) will then battle for the “World Wide Act” distinction - to be bestowed at the show in Belfast.
Two of the reigning queens of pop will go head to head at this year’s EMA in four of the same categories, as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry compete for Best Live, Best Pop and Best Female, as well as Best Song, with Perry nominated for “Firework” and Gaga for “Born This Way”. Gaga is also nominated for Best Video for “Born This Way” and Biggest Fans. Multi-talented singer/songwriter Bruno Mars is up for four awards, including Best New, Best Male, Best Push and Best Song for “Grenade.” Adele has been nominated for Best Female, as well as Best Song and Best Video for “Rolling In The Deep”, and Justin Bieber will compete for Best Pop, Best Male and Biggest Fans. Thirty Seconds To Mars is up for Best Alternative, Best World Stage and Biggest Fans.
As always, the MTV EMA – MTV’s international celebration of the year’s best in music – features nominees from across genres, recognizing today’s hottest acts and global superstars. Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, My Chemical Romance, Jennifer Lopez, LMFAO, Jessie J, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Far East Movement, Kanye West, Linkin Park, Wiz Khalifa and Kings of Leon are each up for two EMA nominations.
Also new to the “2011 MTV EMA” is the Biggest Fans award, which will go to the most passionate fan base for a particular artist. Beginning Monday, 19th September, viewers can vote for their favourite EMA artists by visiting www.mtvema.com. The more fans engage with the EMA content featured on the site, the more their participation and points can boost the chances for their favourite artist to win.

Has Terry G Joined the Illuminati Group? Just Asking
Here’s what a website is reporting about Terry G, could this be true?
Attention has been placed on the recent album of Nigeria's Energetic and eccentric producer and singer, Gabriel Amanyi a.k.a Terry G..Terry g who is known for a different kind of approach in his music and energetic display..The multitalented award winner recently released an album which he calls ''Terry jesus'' but named it in a different way which reads ''Terry Gzuz''
...If carefully pronounced you would know that it is Pronounced as Gzuz-jesus....The issue around the streets is that the talented singer has joined the popular cult which is known as the ILLUMINATI group and that explains the reason he said fans should call him lucifa...well, mos recently the music producer and singer was noticed portraying the two fingers signs popularly known to be done by the Illuminati members...Terry G would be listed among other Nigerian acts like the Mohits crew who were also recently confronted with being a member of the group.....
Meet Soul E and His New Found Love, Petula Delinda
Soul E has been romantically linked to many society ladies in the past including ex banker Queen Ure .Guess it's time to settle down .
Congrats to him!!!!!
Osaze Romances Society Big Babe, Freda Edewor
I got information on this story and this is quite interesting. Footballer Osaze Odemwengie is in a relationship with society big girl Freda Edewor and they might be walking down the aisle once the footballer is ready.
But there have been side talks from every angle, insisting the relationship won’t last. Freda is from a wealthy home and also into selling of Accessories (Kristos) and does this in a big way. We can only wish this works out. How many babes are counting their loss now? Odemwingie is also going…….lol.
Terry G Has A Secret Daughter + Basic Truth About His Alleged Wedding
9janoni.com can authoritatively inform you that, the singer had his introduction last year with his fiancée Mimi, and not weeks back contrary to erstwhile reports.
Just like most people don't know, Terry G has a secret daughter. The liitle girl who celebrated her birthday not too long ago, had the full day with her dad, Terry G in his home, where a little party was put together.
The introduction was also organized to stop a petite lady called Jumoke who didn't want to leave Terry G alone because she was madly in love. Jumoke used all means to capture Terry G's heart to the extent of using Terry G's publicist as a tool but didn't work.
We also gathered that Mimi visits Terry anytime she wants at his well-furnished bungalow at iju and he just acquired a new car aside his Honda CRV . We are not sure if Mimi is pregnant right now, but we will sure keep you posted on that.

Five boys gang rape female student of Abia State University
![]() |
Screen shot of the gang rape of ABSU student. I used my camera phone to take a shot from the rape video |
I saw a video that has messed with my head. A rape video. One hour of five boys taking turns on a girl. So heartbreaking to watch! One woman I showed it to today cried for three hours straight...it's one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life
A female student was gang raped by five boys in Abia State University. This incident happened Tuesday August 16th , 2011. These boys raped this girl, recorded it, passed it round their friends, who then passed it round ABSU campus.
And do you know what her offense was, why this girl was raped? She supposedly insulted one of the boys...that was all.
In the rape video, which lasts for over an hour, the girl cried her eyes out and tried to fight them off in the first few minutes, after a while they subdued her; by slapping her, rough handling her, threatening to kill her and having rough sex with her. After a while she gave in and instead of fighting, she started pleading, and after her pleas fell on deaf ears, she begged them to kill her that she couldn’t take the pain anymore. These boys laughed at her, made fun of her and told her that if she didn't co-operate, they would keep her in the room and continue raping her for two days.
Boko Haram: Gunmen Kill Man Obasanjo Met In Maiduguri
![]() |
| Late Babakura Fuggu |
The man Obasanjo met with was Mohammed Yusuf's brother-in-law, 48year old Babakura Fuggu. Just two days after the meeting, Fuggu was gunned down at his Borno state residence, same venue of the meeting with Obasanjo.
A lone gun man, reportedly in traditional Fulani flowing garb, suspected to be a member of Boko Haram, entered Fuggu's residence at about 1.20pm yesterday afternoon and shot him to death.
The police in Maiduguri say the killing was most likely in protest of Obasanjo's visit to the Yusufs. No one has been arrested yet.
Guess they are not interested in making peace. But was Obasanjo right in visiting Mohammed Yusuf's family
Seems OBJ was right to visit the Family because Boko Haram leader also denied the Killing saying OBJ visit welcomed

Why I’m Making Clothes For Women – Ruggedman
The name Ruggedman brings different memories to different minds all depending on what information we best remember him for. Whether as the green-horn rapper who picked on superiors like Idris Abdulkareem, and entertainment heavyweights Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye; or the benefactor who introduced ethnic singer 9ice to limelight in the popular hit ‘Ruggedy Baba’ (2007) before both parties fell apart in 2010.
In May 2008, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, unveiled his clothing line named after his birthday, 20th September Wears (T.S.W), at the Silverbird Galleria Lagos, where one-time Cross River state governor, Donald Duke was chief-launcher of the collection. Few months down the line, the buzz died down and T.S.W was out of the shops.
But next Sunday, September 25, 2011, a newly revived T.S.W will re-launch; parading a range of exotic male and female Tees, shirts, wristwatches and high-ended shoes. In this interview the award-winning rapper and T.S.W proprietor speaks excitedly on his ‘new’ baby and what was responsible for the hiatus.
You’ve been quiet a lot lately. You seem to be serious about your third album being your last. Can we say music is finally taking the back seat?
I have not been that quiet because I have been busy spreading the ‘Untouchable’ album and the videos of the tracks I have shot so far. I have been really busy recording with artistes who want me to feature on their songs. I still hold the record for the artist with the highest number of collaborations Laughs. I recorded with GT Tha Guitarman, Xpee, Tee M, Mr 2kay, Dubem of the 2009 Star Quest winners, The Pulse, Lyrics and many more. I’ve also been busy recording my artist, Chinaydu’s mixtape and songs for his album at the same time. And of course I have been busy with my 20th September Wear clothing line. Music can never be in the back seat. I have not been quiet. I have been very very very busy.

Between when u introduced TSW to us a couple of years and now not much of the line has been seen. What’s been responsible for the low presence?
I went back to the drawing board. I was not okay with certain things and you know I love to give the best in everything I do. Now I believe I have the right shirts and even got more than just Tee-shirts now that will blow people’s minds.

What’s responsible for the new drive you’re giving the label now? Why are you taking it seriously all of a sudden?
The drive has always been there. I have always taken it seriously. I just needed the right apparels for the clothing line.

I remember the line covers ladies’ tops ‘cos you once gave me one years back. Now tell me what other fashion products have been included and if T.S.W is strictly a ladies’ line ‘cos we know you love the ladies.
Definitely I love the ladies plenty because women make a lot of things happen. Laughs. T.S.W by Ruggedman now parades male and female Tee-shirts, men’s shirts, female shoes, and male and female wristwatches for now.

From the pictures of the shoes we’ve seen, they appear really high-ended. Is that deliberate? Who are your target audience?
My target audience is who ever likes what I have and can afford it. The quality is not in question anymore. It is now a question of ‘can I afford this 20th September Wear item’? But of course they are all affordable apparels.

How affordable would they be? Price range please?
The prices range from Five thousand Naira upwards. I can’t tell you exactly which item costs N5000 but be rest assured it is not the female shoes, Laughs

Will there be flats? And will you consider making shoes or goods for regular everyday people or is TSW suppose to be a luxury brand?
I intend to have goods for everyday people and also have luxury items. That’s the way of the world
About how much have you invested in this venture?
I have been into this since 2004 so my dear I can not start to calculate how much I have invested. But I can tell you, it’s a lot. Nothing good comes cheap.

Do you have any partners?
I do not have any partners yet. I like to have something on ground first even if I am going to approach anybody to partner with me. That way, I can show him/her/them what I have done and not what I am hoping to do.

Who designs the goods?
I have my team that does the designs. And I also add my ideas here and there.
I have my team that does the designs. And I also add my ideas here and there.
Will the items be sold in regular markets or at particular places?
I am starting small so I have particular places where I will sell them. So far I have close to nine outlets in Lagos for starters. I am working with the likes of OUCH, Liz Couture, The Ballers and Hub Media stores inside Shoprite, Lekki to sell. These outlets will be included on all my promo materials for the unveiling that will take place on the 25th of September at The Hub Media stores inside Shoprite, The Palms, Lekki, Lagos from 4pm.
You spoke for poor people and mechanics in one of your popular song lyrics, are you still doing same with T.S.W?
Yes because the pay off for 20th September Wear is ‘Fashion for your generation’. And this is despite the fact that my music business is different from my clothing business.

What has been your biggest challenge in getting here today with TSW?
That would be ‘how’ and ‘where’ to get great quality apparels, but that I think I have overcome now through hard work and persistence.

What’s the long run vision for TSW?
I pray to be to Nigeria what Nike, D & G, and GAP are to America and the world.
I pray to be to Nigeria what Nike, D & G, and GAP are to America and the world.
If business gets really busy or lucrative, is there the possibility of quitting RuggedRecords and focusing on TSW?
Nope, because they work hand in hand
Nope, because they work hand in hand
What’s the relationship between TSW and RuggedRecords? Is Chinaydu the only artist on your label and how’s he doing right now?
TSW was able to start off because of Rugged Records. Even my artist, Chinaydu is one of the models for TSW. For now, Chinaydu is the only artiste (apart from Ruggedman ofcourse) on Rugged Records. We are currently looking for an R n B act to sign on. As part of Chinaydu’s promo, a few tracks have been released to fans free for online download and the response has been really positive because it is easy to recognise natural talent when you hear one.
Thank you very much for your time.

Durella Talks Collaboration With Dbanj
Durella who recently signed a N30million deal with Ikonic records after parting ways with TC Records has just released 'Back To Sender' a collaboration with Femi Kuti off her album.
Durella who is currently working on his second album told radio personality, Slizz on Ray Power that he had collaborated with Wizkid, 2face, MI and others on tracks off his forthcoming album already. He also talked about his collaboration with Dbanj which he said will be produced by Don Jazzy. I think this is one of the most anticipated collaboration in a long time.
Talking of sound and style, Durella has been compared to Dbanj. I think this collaboration will do justice to this
Chinua Achebe forces 50 Cent to rename movie

The foundation threatened to go court over intellectual infringement, 50 Cent allegedly offered to pay $1million dollars to keep the name, the foundation refused and 50 Cent and his producers had no choice but to change the film's title. It's now - All Things Fall Apart.
Nice work! Continue to see the first time Things Fall Apart was used in a literary work..
The Second Coming
By William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

"Yes, Toni Payne Visits Me, But We Have Not Settled" - 9ice

Contrary to news making the rounds that estranged couple, 9ice and Toni Payne had reconciled/on the verge of reconciling, 9ice says it's not true. When asked if he and estranged wife Toni Payne had reconciled since she's always seen at his home, 9ice replied.
Yes, she comes to the house, but she has not returned. What happens is she comes to the house, because in our Yoruba tradition, she has the right to visit the father of her child or children and if there's space or accommodation, she can stay briefly to see her children. She's been coming to the house, but that doesn't mean that she was coming to beg me, or me begging her. That chapter is closed for now.
"Osama is Alive"- Abdulmutallab
This is getting interesting,to imagine someone telling the world that osama is alive. This is how this day reported it.
A This day report
The Nigerian who is accused of trying to blow up a Detroit-bound jetliner on Christmas Day 2009, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, created a scene in an appearance before a Detroit jury Wednesday by shouting in praise of slain terror leader, Osama bin Laden, and proclaimed jihad.
According to Detroit Free Press, the underwear bomber arrived in court in an apparent foul mood shouting “Osama’s alive”, as he entered the court room, adding: “I’m forced to wear prison clothes.”
Abdulmutallab, wearing khaki prison pants, a white T-shirt and black skull cap, refused to stand when US District Judge Nancy Edmunds, who was in another room with prospective jurors, asked him to stand with others in her courtroom several floors away.
While Edmunds briefed jurors about the allegations against him, Abdulmutallab hollered “jihad” and stared at the ceiling when she told jurors about the alleged plot to blow up the plane with a bomb in his underwear.
When the evidentiary hearing resumed after a brief recess, Edmunds noticed that Abdulmutallab had put on a white dress shirt but left it unbuttoned in the front.
"I will just tell you that if you want to make a better impression on the jury, you should button the shirt,” Edmunds told him. He said he wanted to wear it unbuttoned.
After lunch when the hearing resumed, Abdulmutallab told reporters when he walked in: "Don't say Osama is dead."
During most of the 25-minute jury instruction, Abdulmutallab sat at the defence table with his standby lawyer, Anthony Chambers, leaning back in his chair with his hands clasped under his chin. At one point, he put his foot on the defence table.
Federal marshals stood over him while he misbehaved. The prospective jurors could observe his antics on a two-way closed circuit television monitor.
During her presentation to jurors, Edmunds said: “We are not trying to find people for this jury, who have never heard of this case. ... We are looking for people who ... are fair, objective and impartial.”
The trial is to get under way October 11 and take four weeks. After instructing the jury and leaving them to fill out a questionnaire, Edmunds conducted a hearing to decide several requests from Abdulmutallab, including one to be released claiming he’s being unlawfully detained by the US government. Specifically, he has argued in court documents “all Muslims should only be ruled by the law of the Quran.”
She denied the request.
Abdulmutallab also wanted Edmunds to suppress incriminating statements he made to federal agents while being treated at the burn unit of the University of Michigan Hospital after his bomb misfired. Among the statements he made to agents was that he was working on behalf of al-Qaeda, court records show.
During an hour of testimony, Julia Longenecker, a nurse who treated his burns, said he never complained of any pain and was lucid and aware of his surroundings while nurses scrubbed and wrapped his burns.
His only complaint, she testified, was the Christmas music playing in the background. “He asked if we could turn it off,” she said. “It was Christmas Day and we were working, but we didn’t turn it off.”
She said he was very polite throughout the one-hour procedure: “He wasn’t mean, he wasn’t hostile. ... He was always even-keeled”
On cross-examination by Chambers, she admitted that she was told not to give him additional fentanyl pain medication before he was to be questioned by agents.
But she couldn’t remember who gave the order. She said she would have insisted he receive more fentanyl if she thought he was in pain.
After treatment, she said Abdulmutallab was taken to a hospital room where FBI agents questioned him. She said agents were polite during questioning.
During cross-examination, Chambers tried and failed to get her to concede that Abdulmutallab could have been high on fentanyl.
Also, an FBI agent testified that he did not read Miranda rights to the 24-year-old Nigerian because he was worried about other suicide bombers.
In a jury selection hearing, FBI Agent Timothy Waters testified that he questioned Abdulmutallab at the hospital for about 50 minutes.
Waters, an FBI terrorism expert, said that from experiences abroad, reading non-US citizens Miranda rights complicates the ability to get information quickly.
“It stops the process dead in its tracks,” Waters said. “I didn’t feel it was necessary. We needed information right not about individuals willing to martyr themselves on other airplanes.”
He said Abdulmutallab admitted he was an al-Qaida operative from Yemen, talked about how he had become radicalised and about other al-Qaida operatives with whom he had met after going to Yemen from Nigeria.
After all the questionnaires are filled out, jury selection will resume October 4. Notified prospective jurors will report in small groups for individual questioning, known as voir dire. This is when the defence and prosecution question each individual, looking for possible biases or red flags, and pick the actual jury.
Hehehe
